We’re moving the conference back to a hotel so that you can enjoy all the classes, meals, and socializing in one place! In addition to beautiful rooms and meeting spaces, the recently renovated Cherry Valley Hotel in Newark offers gorgeous outdoor walking spaces, a bar, and lots of room to sit around and catch up with friends and network!
Your registration includes four meals - lunch and dinner on Sunday, July 24th, and breakfast and lunch on Monday, July 25th.
No counter-programming so you can see all of our speakers! Attend all of our classes on Sunday and Monday and PPA members will receive a continuing education merit. PPO members will also be eligible for a PPO service merit.
Two PPA Merited classes are being offered on Saturday, July 23rd, the day before the convention starts. - one in Columbus, and one in Pickerington, close enough to pop over to the hotel afterward!

Spend a day with two award-winning pet photographers and learn how to get started or build your skills photographing dogs in the studio! The first half of this action-packed day will cover everything you need to have a successful studio session. Topics include lighting, equipment, attention-getting, and posing dogs (plus dogs with their people). We will also discuss canine body language and how to manage both the owner and the dog(s) during the session. Presentation of key content, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice for participants will provide a variety of learning experiences.
The second half of the day will cover basic post-processing in LR and then more advanced “correction” techniques in PS such as eye brightening, collar and leash removal, background extensions, tongue shrinkage, and modesty edits. Learn how to use layers and non-destructive editing, and that the patch tool is your new best friend. We will also discuss more advanced head-swapping and compositing concepts. Participants can practice editing techniques on images they shot in the morning.
This is a PPA continuing education class. All PPA members in good standing will receive a merit for attending.

One key to successful sales is specifically shooting FOR the products you want to sell. Gary will start with the types and series of images he creates with specific items in mind to sell. Another element is lighting diversity. Learn the foundation elements of proper lighting, in other words, the rules, then learn how to break them with purpose. He will also illustrate how to create images with Off Camera Flash that don't look too "flashy". The second half of the program is how to convert those images into the maximum dollars. Gary will cover pricing strategies and the entire sales process, including how to dramatically increase your album sales averages.
